Hi Dr. G here thanks for watching this short video so today we’re talking about acupressure and how it can be the answer if you’re suffering from a lot of muscular pain in the neck/nakkesmerter, upper back and lower back area and what we’re going to show you, later on, is a tool that I use at home that’s helped me tremendously to get rid of knots, muscle pain, and a lot of tension in my neck and low back area at the end of the day. I’ll give you a preview right now this is the tool that I use is a mat, it’s an acupressure mat, and it has little spikes on it which are going to be putting pressure on different points on the body but before we get to that what I want to go over is the whole point behind acupressure. Acupressure is the activation of several muscle areas in the body to relax muscles, relieve tension, increase circulation and feel better overall.
If we look at the drawing here that I made, we have different areas that are related to stress. Now stress could be either physical stress such as a physical job, or if you’re in a specific position for an extended period you’re putting physical stress on your body, or it could also be emotional stress, if you’re on there a lot of pressure, a lot of stress, the mental aspect can affect the muscles you can get tightness in the muscles so let’s look at the drawing here we have stress relates to everything if we’re under specific stresses it can cause muscle pain and we have muscle tension, muscle tension leads to decreased circulation, which leads to tight muscles, if we look over here when we have tight muscles that leads to a decrease in the range of motion of the muscles which causes trigger points, which are basically knots in the muscles and then we continue in this pain cycle for a very long time, so the whole point behind acupressure is to put pressure on certain aspects to release the stress that’s being placed on our muscles all this going on here it’s going to be decreased by acupressure if the problem is muscular.
Now usually you go to a massage therapist to get this done but a massage therapist will charge you at least $per minute so if you go for 30 minute sessions it’ll be $30, 60 minutes $60, and so on and so forth and of course if you go very often then you’re gonna be paying a pretty penny. So the whole reason why I got this mat the acupressure mat is because I paid for it once that I could continue to use it over and over again I come home my job is very physical I’m always pushing on people I’m always stretching people I’m always working out together with people so I’m very tired at the end of the day so what I do is I lay on my pranamat for 15 to 20 minutes and it helps me to relax so much I get a lot of stress relief I get a lot less tension in my muscles improve circulation to the muscles and it also helps me to just relax where I’m almost to the point where I’m falling asleep at the end of those 15 to 20 minutes and what’s funny is that even my kids have started to use it because it feels really good.
All right we got my son here what are you doing right now Toryn? I’m laying on a therapeutic mat and stole it from you while you were at work. Why did you take it? Because it feels so good on your back mm-hmm. Now I’ve also started to put this to practice because it felt good on my body, and my kids liked it. I started set it to practice on some of my patients, and they have actually told me that it feels really good and it relaxes them as well all right, so we’ve had James here for about 10-15 minutes on their. How do you think it feels excellent yeah yeah good looking good so what I did is I went ahead and contacted the manufacturer and asked them hey is there any way that I can get a discount for me to share with my followers so that they can also experience the benefits of acupressure and they agreed to give me a coupon code the coupon code they gave me as dr.
